This book really has improved its binding. The amount of care that went into the packaging is amazing. The quality of the product was great, the only little issue I have is the amount of reading material. There's not much to read, but the art is absolutely gorgeous. I guess it's fine since I know it's hard trying to make lots of reading material, but still, it'd be better if there were more words and pages. But that's good since it means I enjoyed the book and want more! Definitely recommend this to any fan of Hollow Knight. Fangamer rocks!
I. Love. This. Book. It's gorgeous and frankly I'm so glad I got it as a gift! However, I am a little worried that the pages might fall out as one is already about to drop out (literally hanging by a corner) and I don't want more to follow it because this book is something I really want to last.
You know when you go on a really nice trip somewhere and you get to the tourist shop at the end and you see a book in there? Your like "Ah, this will be a nice read, maybe I can learn more about where I have been" but then you read it and realize you learned nothing new, that's this book. If you already played this game (which is the target demographic) then this book will have very little to offer except a trip down memory lane. Outside of the writing the production value is pretty great, the cover of the book has a metallic ink that shines in the light and makes a beautiful book to put on your coffee table and is a great conversation starter. The illustrations are vibrant and full of color and this book has that great book smell that's gets you immersed. To describe the writing to an older gaming audience it's like instruction books back in the day except with no instructions and 160 pages of small informational flavor text. It only barely comes off as a diary and more like an informational of a beastiary. Compared to other "lore" books I have gotten it's very lacking on new information and leaves you wanting more expecially for it's high price point for what little you get. Hopefully if they make a silksong book they make it more expansive and give us more to chew on. This gets a coffee table book or bathroom "I forgot my phone" book out of ten. Also here is a picture of the back of the book since someone already posted the front.
Really enjoy it. Even if you got the bad binding copy, it still worth every single geo!
But you can always contact supports for a replacement, they are really cool.
